Fully-Chambered 8-String Lap-Steel Guitar

Zebra Wood found at Woodcraft in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
This Zebra Wood has wonderful grain lines.
This is what the Lap-Steel is supposed to look like.

Here, I'm laminating 4 blocks of wood together for the body harp.
Clamping the 'body harp' wood.

Here's the top and bottom pieces ready to laminate together.
Gluing the thin top pieces together.
The 'body harp' sandwiched between the rough-cut top and bottom.
Checking what the design will look like with the bridge and a pickup.
Gluing the top to the 'body harp'.
The bottom with countersunk bolt holes.
Chiseling the neck shape.
The roughed out neck.
Using "Shark-Skin" abrasive to shape the headstock.
More testing the roughed-in neck-to-body fit.
The neck is glued to the top and 'body harp' sides.
The fingerboard decision. Bubinga or Purpleheart (bottom)
Gluing the top to the 'body harp'.
Glunig the neck to the 'body harp' and top.
Installing Maple fret lines on the Purpleheart fingerboard.
The neck now has a headstock Zebrawood laminate.
Checking components for fit.
